HP Printer is printing only half a page. Incomplete print output

I am haveing the exact same problem as Mike849.  In my case it's a Color LaserJet M283fdw from a 2022 iMac computer running the latest 'Ventrua operating system.  The printer printed normally when first set up but one day just started printing shifted pages.  the followiong two photos show the page to be printed as it appears in the print preview window and how the actual printed document looks:

I found a previous 2020 mention of this problem and  suggested fixes at https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/Print-shifted-to-right/m-p/7479141#M178...  . The were:

1. Turn the printer off, and then on again

2. Upgrade the printer firmware

I did both, and the firmware is up-to-date but the problem persists.  This printe wsa recently puchase by a very poor Histiircal Society and is only used a couple of day each month.  Can someone please hlep us!
