Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525

Printer started printing blank or very faded pages, the problem seemed to be the black ink cartridge so I replaced it but the problem persists. I tried cleaning the print head and after the third cleaning cycle it printed the diagnostics page perfectly and the black ink seemed to be working. But as soon as I try to print something else, doesn't matter what it is or what device it comes from, it starts printing blanks again. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

 

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  
To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done, this document outlines how to troubleshoot print quality issues with your printer. 

 

If after following the above the printer will still not print in black, the printer needs to be replaced. You can contact HP Support:

HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:

  • Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/
  • Select the product type.
  • Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
  • Select the country from the drop-down.
  • You should see the HP support number or Chat option listed
