My printer requires it's own WiFi address. How do I add it to my current connection? Actually, I am not normally this clueless, but this has me stumped.

@arekaybee, Welcome to HP Support Community!
If I am not wrong, you are trying to connect the printer to your Mac computer wirelessly. As per the printer specifications, you can only connect the printer using a USB cable and not wireless.
Refer to the document Printer Specifications for HP Officejet 2620, Deskjet 2640 Printers for details.
