I am using an OfficeJetPro 8130e series - which I have had for a week. Serial No.[personal info removed]. My PC runs on Windows 10. Things were reasonably OK until yesterday when on trying to print I started to get messages saying the printer was out of paper - but it wasn't. It will copy, and when I run HP Print and Scan Doctor it says "a couple of problems have been fixed, Try to print a test page". And the test page prints OK - but I still can't print my own docs. What is going on? Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi @dibby20159,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e is having trouble recognizing the paper even though it’s loaded correctly. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue.
- Check Paper Settings: Make sure the paper settings on your PC match the paper loaded in the printer. Go to the print settings in your document or application and verify the paper size and type.
- Check Paper Tray: Ensure the paper is loaded correctly in the tray and that the paper guides are adjusted to fit the paper size. Sometimes misalignment can cause the printer to think it's out of paper.
- Clean the Paper Feed Rollers: Dust or paper debris on the rollers can cause paper feed issues. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water to clean the rollers. Let them dry before attempting to print again.
- Check for Paper Jams: Even if there isn’t an obvious jam, paper dust or small bits of paper can cause problems. Check inside the printer for any obstructions.
- Restart Printer and PC: Power cycle both your printer and PC. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity or communication issues.
- Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Run Printer Diagnostics: Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor to check for and fix any issues. It sounds like you've already done this, but make sure to follow any additional instructions it provides.
- Reset Printer: If the issue persists, you might need to perform a factory reset on the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
