HP Laser Jet Pro MFP M127fw printer will not print. No changes made in OS but suddenly a message came up to "Install black cartridge." The cartridge I was using seemed fine but even after putting a new (non-HP) black cartridge, it would not print. Any  help would be appreciated.

@jmarcus, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand the black ink toner is not working. HP does not recommend the use of non-HP ink cartridges. It may or may not work. HP cannot guarantee its functionality.

For more info, refer to - Dynamic Security Enabled Printers

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - 'Install Black Cartridge' Displays

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your computer.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

If the issue persists, use an HP ink toner to check if that works. You may visit Hp Store to check and order compatible ink toner or get it from a local store.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
