Hi @Munch4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions:

  • Open the printer and inspect all compartments for any paper jams or foreign objects.
  • Make sure paper is loaded correctly in the input tray.

Clean and Reseat Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the access door, remove the ink cartridges, and inspect them for any visible damage.
  • Clean the contacts gently with a lint-free cloth and reinsert them securely.

Reset the Printer:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer as well as from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds and then reconnect the power cord to the printer and the outlet.
  • Turn the printer on to see if the issue is resolved.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support website and check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model. Installing the latest firmware can resolve known issues.

Examine the Power Source:

  • Ensure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet, not a power strip or surge protector, which can affect its performance.

Check Printer Software and Drivers:

  • Ensure you have the latest printer drivers and software installed. These can be downloaded from the HP support page for your printer.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Press and hold the "Cancel" and "OK" buttons on the printer control panel, then power the unit on while keeping the buttons pressed. This might solve minor electronic glitches.

I hope this helps.
