I just replaced the hp cartridges in my OfficeJet Pro 8025 and it has been validating for over half the day. How do I get it unstuck or turn off the validating option. Thank you.

Hi @kak50, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e is stuck on "validating cartridges" after replacing them, try the following troubleshooting steps:
Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait 2-3 minutes to clear any residual power.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Remove and Reinsert the Cartridges
- Open the printer’s ink cartridge access door.
- Remove all ink cartridges and inspect them for any damage or protective tape (ensure the contacts are clean).
- Reinsert them firmly into their respective slots.
- Close the access door and check if validation completes.
Perform a Hard Reset
- With the printer on, unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet first, then into the printer.
- Turn the printer back on and see if it proceeds past validation.
Check for Firmware Updates
- If the printer screen becomes responsive, check for updates:
- Go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.
- Allow the printer to install any available updates.
Use Original HP Cartridges
- If you're using non-HP or refilled cartridges, the printer may be stuck due to firmware security restrictions.
- Try replacing them with genuine HP setup cartridges (if this is the initial setup) or genuine replacement cartridges.
6. Reset to Factory Defaults
- If the issue persists, you may need to reset the printer:
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
- After resetting, set up the printer again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
