My Deskjet prints a test page just fine even though black ink is a little low...however, when printing from my mac, it won't print black ink, but does print color...again, test page prints all colors including black, just fine...thanks

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Printing a test page requires less amount of ink when compared to printing a document from MAC.
  • I suggest you change the Black ink cartridge and try printing.
  • If it prints fine, then there is no issue with the printer. If it doesn't, then we can troubleshoot the issue.
  • Refer to this document for more info and troubleshooting steps for this issue.
  • Also, Update the printer firmware from your MAC, click here.

Let me know how this goes.
