Hi @Heidi2424 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-In-One Printer is stuck on the "validating" process after you've loaded new cartridges, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that the cartridges are installed correctly. Make sure they are securely inserted into their respective slots.
  • Remove and reinsert the cartridges to ensure proper contact.

Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 1-2 minutes to allow the printer to reset.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Firmware Update:

  • Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website.
  • If an update is available, download and install it following the provided instructions.

Check for Obstructions:

  • Ensure that there are no obstructions or debris inside the printer that may be preventing proper cartridge recognition.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Remove the cartridges.
  • Wipe the electrical contacts of the cartridges with a lint-free cloth.
  • Wipe the contacts inside the printer where the cartridges make contact.
  • Reinsert the cartridges and turn on the printer.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect any USB cables or Ethernet cables.
  • Remove the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Reconnect the power cord.
  • Turn on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
