Hi @capman489,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP DeskJet Plus 4152 All-in-One Printer does not have a physical reset button, but you can perform a reset through a series of steps that effectively reset the printer to its default settings. Here’s how you can reset the printer and address the blinking ink light issue:
1. Perform a Hard Reset:
Turn Off the Printer:
- Press the Power button to turn off the printer. If it’s not responding, you can unplug it directly from the power source.
Unplug the Printer:
- Unplug the printer’s power cord from the wall outlet or the back of the printer.
Wait:
- Wait at least 60 seconds. This allows the printer to fully power down and clear any temporary issues.
Plug the Printer Back In:
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer and plug it back into the wall outlet.
Turn the Printer On:
- Press the Power button to turn the printer back on.
2. Perform a Printer Reset via Menu (If Applicable):
While the DeskJet Plus 4152 doesn’t have a specific menu option for a full factory reset, you can check if there’s an option to restore settings to default from the printer's control panel. Usually, you would find this option under the Setup or Tools menu.
Access the Control Panel:
- Navigate to the Setup menu on the printer's control panel.
Look for Reset or Restore Defaults:
- If available, select Restore Defaults or a similar option. This will reset any custom settings.
3. Address the Blinking Ink Light:
The blinking lights for ink usually indicate a problem with the ink cartridges. Here’s what you can do:
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Open the printer’s ink cartridge access door. Wait for the carriage to stop moving before proceeding.
Inspect Cartridges:
- Ensure the ink cartridges are properly installed. Remove and then reinsert them to make sure they are seated correctly.
Check for Ink Cartridge Issues:
- Check if any of the cartridges are low or empty. Replace any cartridges if necessary.
Clean Contacts:
- Gently clean the contacts on the ink cartridges and inside the cartridge slots with a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water. Be sure everything is dry before reinserting the cartridges.
Close the Ink Cartridge Access Door:
- Ensure that the door is closed properly and the printer is powered on.
4. Update or Reinstall Printer Software:
HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device and check for any notifications or error messages that might provide more information.
HP Website:
- Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers and firmware for your printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
