HP OfficeJet 6968 Printer
Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)

My printer is less than 3 months old. Today I tried to print phots for the first time. 8.5x11 prints fine. I change the photo paper to 4x6 Photo paper, modified the settings on the touch screen on the printer, and selected the photo I want to print from Picasa photo Album. My computer sends my request to my printer, then I get the following message: "Paper size mismatch. Paper size detected does not match the paper size selected for the print job". I am using HP Photo Paper and it is 4x6, and I installed the paper in the tray as shown on the demonstration video. I went back and forthe between 4x6 and 8.5x11 and the large size always prints??!!#**##

The printer does not fully support Vista -- "basic" drivers (printer software) are available but likely do not provide a full set of features (hence the name "Full Feature Software" for fully supported versions of Windows).

Suggested:

Try instead another photo printing program that might be able to translate the necessary settings to the printer.

For example, one or more of the following might work:

(Download, save, and install the program on you computer.)

  • Printing with Paint
    • Print Photo at Desired Size

(Paint is included in your Vista Operating System.)

  • Printing Photos with Windows Photo Viewer for Windows

(Windows Photo Viewer is included in your Vista Operating System.)

Thanks, Dragon-Fur.

Butch — HP Photo Creations can load photos from your Picasa albums. Click Add Photos, then click the Google button.

To start, choose 4 x 6 from the Prints menu.

HP Photo Creations is a free download for macOS and Windows at www.hp.com/go/hppc. We officially support Windows 7 and newer versions, but Vista should work fine.
