Hi,

I've been having constant trouble with printing. My printer is currently connected to the wifi perfectly fine but when I try to print off my laptop it just says that there is an error and when I try to print off of my iphone it says that there are no printers availiable. I have tried constantly to use the HP Scan Doctor but it continues to tell me that it cannot communicate with my printer.

I was previously able to just print off of my iphone which worked fine, but I have never successfully been able to print off of my HP laptop.

I live in a student dormitory and the wifi is controlled by the building so I cannot "unplug" the router or anything like that.

Please let me know if you have any way of fixing this problem.

Hi @justjacky,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are facing issues with your HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer wherein it does not print on the wi-fi network.

This issue could occur if the wi-fi direct is enabled.

Let's go through a few steps that may help to fix this issue.

I suggest that you disable the wi-fi direct on the unit and check by following the steps listed below:

From the printer control panel, touch (Wi-Fi Direct).

2. Touch Settings, and then Wi-Fi Direct to turn it OFF

If the issue persists, I suggest that you restore the network settings to factory defaults by following the steps listed below:

1. From the Home screen, touch (Wireless), and then touch Settings.

2. Touch Restore Network Settings.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Now, I suggest that you follow the steps to setup the wireless network by following the link:  Wireless Printer Setup

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.
