Hi! @greeneyes56, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!
I understand you have issues printing excel files from your printer.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Please try the steps recommended below.
Try the steps recommended below.
I will suggest that you try adding an alternate driver on your PC and check if it helps.
1. Go to your Control Panel and then Printers and Faxes.
2. On the left under Printer Tasks click on Add a Printer and then click Next on the welcome screen.
3. Select Local Printer Attached to this computer, then Next.
4. From the drop down list select the port that the Deskjet 2050 is using and then click Next.
5. Under Manufacturer make sure you select HP. Under Printers look for the hp Deskjet 990c and then click Next.
6. You can change the printer name, or leave it as is, the decision is yours. You can make it the default if you'd like. If you don't just make sure you remember to select it instead of the Deskjet 2050 when you print from Excel. Make sure to click Next when done.
7. Don't share the printer, unless you require it to be shared, then click Next.
8. Say yes to printing the Test Page to make sure everything worked, then click Next followed by Finish.
Let me know if this helps!
Have a great day ahead! 🙂

@greeneyes56, It's great to hear from you again. I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.
I would like you to try and create a brand new Excel sheet. Office programs tend to store old hardware information which may have references. Are you trying to print existing sheets?
Create the new sheet, does this print? If this prints then you will need to recreate your old sheets, or you can contact Microsoft Office Support and see if there is a better way to fix this for you. Because the problem is only with Excel and all other documents are able to print to your Deskjet 2050 series printer we know that the printer and software are fine.
I'll watch your reply!
Take care! 🙂
