@Hubba3

Welcome to HP Forums,

Let's get straight to it!

If you've not tried it yet, please check if the copier can print yellow and the other colors as a stand-alone device, this should help us determine if this is either a software or hardware related issue,

If the copier works fine and yet the windows device doesn't get the work done, I suggest you follow the below steps:

Press "Windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window.

Type "services.msc" to get Services - Go to "Print spooler" - Right-click and "Stop" the service.

Now again open "Run" - Type "spool" and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.

Go to services again - Start the print spooler.

Now check for issue resolution.

If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:

First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.

Go to Control panel - Programs and feature - Select all the HP printer entries and uninstall them.

Now go to Control panel - Devices and printer - Select all the printer entries and remove the device.

Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.

Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.

Again, go to the Run window, type - "c:/programdata" - Go to the Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

Restart your computer.

Then, use this link to access the HP website, find the drivers compatible with your windows and install it: Click here

Let me know how that pans out

I will have a colleague follow-up on this to ensure it's taken care off, in case you don't respond in the next 24-48hrs,

Feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon,

Followed by clicking on 'Accepted as Solution' as it would help the community gain more knowledge and have a great day Ahead!

 Hi and Thank You,

My printer would not copy yellow either...so I went to the next section "Go to Control panel..."

At "Select all the HP printer entries and uninstall them"  I want to make sure that these entries can be uninstalled:

HP FWUpdate EDO2

HP Officejet Pro 8600 Basic Device Software

HP Officejet Pro 8600 Help

HP Photo Creation

HP Support Solution Framework

HP Update

Also in program Data I found:

HP Officejet Pro 8600

NCCOM

PDSMQ

Temp

I don't want to uninstall something I'm not supposed to.

Thanks so much, Karen

@Hubba3

They are all a part of the same printer and should be removable as per the instructions, I suggest you go ahead with the same,

Also, under program data, you can remove only the printer related files, in your case - the "HP Officejet Pro 8600".

When done, please follow the rest of the steps to resolve the issue,

And keep us posted with the details.

Good luck and Take care.

Hi again and thank you for your time,

I followed all instructions and the copy and print from computer still won't print yellow.  I used HP Print and Scan Dr and cleaned the printheads.  My yellow section always comes out a sickly olive greeny color.  Nothing like yellow.

Thanks, Karen

@Hubba3

I'm afraid we've reached the end of the line, as this seems to be a hardware malfunction,

I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options:

follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
