Hi @ChrisPrint1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're getting an "Incompatible Printhead" error on your HP printer, here are some steps you can take:

Troubleshooting Steps

Check Compatibility:

  • Ensure the printhead you are using is compatible with your specific printer model. Refer to your printer’s manual or the HP website for the correct part number.

Inspect the Printhead:

  • Remove the printhead and check for any visible damage or debris. Clean the electrical contacts gently with a lint-free cloth.

Reinstall the Printhead:

  • Carefully reinstall the printhead to ensure it's seated properly.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer via the HP Smart app or HP's website.

Finding a Replacement Printhead

If you need to replace the printhead and can’t find it online:

Authorized Retailers:

  • Check with authorized HP retailers or service centers; they may have the printhead in stock.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
