Hi @ZL_Thong
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
That’s definitely annoying—especially when everything else seems fine and the printer just refuses to cooperate. Let’s try to get your HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 back to printing smoothly. 🖨️💪
Troubleshooting Steps:
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Ensure that the ink cartridges are correctly installed and have sufficient ink. Remove and reinstall the cartridges to make sure they are seated properly.
Clean the Printhead:
- Use the printer's built-in cleaning tool to clean the printhead. This can often resolve issues with clogged nozzles:
- From the printer control panel, navigate to the setup menu.
- Select "Tools" and then choose "Clean Printhead."
- Follow the prompts to complete the cleaning cycle.
Alignment Test:
- Run a printhead alignment test:
- From the printer control panel, go to the setup menu.
- Find "Align Printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.
Manual Cleaning:
- If automatic cleaning doesn’t help, you might attempt manual cleaning. Carefully remove the printhead (if possible and according to the manual instructions), then gently wipe the nozzles with a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date, as updates can resolve bugs or issues with printheads.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds and then plug it back in and turn it on.
Inspect for Damage:
- Check for any signs of physical damage to the printhead or ink cartridges. If damaged, you may need to replace them.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it might be necessary to contact HP Support for further assistance, or consider taking the printer to an authorized service center for a more in-depth examination.
