I have a Officejet Pro 6830 and replaced low ink cartridges with HP replacement cartridges.  I now have printhead error 0xc19a0015.

I tried the removing cartridges, turning off power and back on.  Printer starts to print and the comes up with same error.

Can I remove printhead and clean or replace?  Other options to fix?

@mzrhj5,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand you are getting "Printhead error" message on your HP OfficeJet printer after replacing the ink cartridge. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you tried to clean the ink cartridge contacts?

Did you try to update the printer firmware?

While you respond to this post, let's try these steps here:

Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.

If your printer connected wireless, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to check for the latest firmware update if available for your printer, for more details, please go through this link:

HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Option 1: Update directly from the printer

Option 2: Download the printer firmware update from HP Support Website.

Alternatively, you can also go through the steps suggested in the support document for – HP Printers - Printhead Problem, Ink System Failure, '0x...' Error Displays

If you have followed the steps suggested and still having the issue, I would personally suggest this could be a possible hardware failure. I would recommend you contact our HP phone support for further assistance.

I tan the printhead cleaning cycle 3 times. The test page comes out perfect, but the printer still give the same message...printhead error 0xc19a0015. I’m not sure what else I need to do to fix it.
