Scan and Print Doctor says: Printhead: Missing, Failed or Incompatible

In the middle of printing 10 sheets, printer stopped with a printhead error.
I have followed all the troubleshooting steps without success, including checking for firmware updates and a hard reset several times.
The printer is out of warranty, but only records 538 pages and I have used it so little that some of the protective tape is still on it. I am on my second set of genuine HP coloured inks and running out of the first proper black cartridge. I can't believe my printer has really failed so soon. Any hope?

Thank you so much for your advice. I have followed the link you gave again and interacted with the virtual agent, which sent me back to the HP support community.
I have in use 4 HP printers, 2 of which are more than 12 years old and are brilliant. I cannot accept that this one, hardly used, has no solution so far.
Any other options?

If you have an HP authorized service center near by, you should be able to take it to them and have it checked.

Here is a link to HP Service Centers, by Country/Region: Click here

I am grateful for that suggestion. The default search returns "Your search returned no results for the selected country". I will find a service centre somewhere to speak to, since I cannot visit one. Thank you again
