Hp office jet 6500a plus

Printhead error came three months after printer had been in storage for a few months. I rebooted the printer, cleaned the printhead, tried aligning it, cleaning it manually, and finally bought a new printhead and installed it but still have the printhead error.

Hello,

At times if there is no proper contact between printhead and printer , this error would show up.

i found 2 documents and would suggest you to try all the steps mentioned in them to fix this problem.

Thanks for the information, but unfortunately none of these options worked. I followed those before asking the community. A new printhead didn’t even work

Hello,

Its really unfortunate that the new printhead is not working.  I guess its a connectivity issue.

The only thing i can suggest you now is to clean the contact points on the printhead using a lint free dry cloth and do the same in the printer where the printhead sits. Ensure to Unplug the power cord from the printer before you clean the contact points in the printer.

If issue still persists, i guess its time to replace the printer.
