Hi. I've had som printhead errors as the printhead error symbol was blinking on my printer. I cleaned the head as described on the internet. Unfortunately this did not help so I bought a new head. The same problem occursand an it's the same color that doesn't work. I have replace the cartridge with an old one but nothing helps. I have two identical printers and I have tried both and still the same error. Could it be a cartridges error in some way or is there other ways to approach this problem? I would be greatful for any idéas to solve this problem. Thank you! // Claes

@ClaesRut, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printhead Errors on HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If you are experiencing persistent printhead errors on your HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter even after cleaning and replacing the printhead, it may be due to several reasons. Below are some steps and suggestions that could help resolve the issue:
1. Check the Installation
Ensure that the printhead is correctly installed. This includes making sure it is firmly seated and all contacts are clean. Incorrect installation can lead to errors.
2. Firmware Update
Make sure your printer firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues with printheads.
3. Reset your Printer
Perform a semi-full reset of the printer to clear any error states:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Wait for about a minute.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Go through the initial setup process.
4. Check for Blockages
Even new printheads might have residual ink or blockages if not stored correctly. You can try another cleaning cycle through the printer menu for deeper cleaning.
5. Printer Self-Diagnostic
Run a self-diagnostic report from the printer to identify and analyze errors more accurately. This can sometimes pinpoint the exact nature of the problem and suggest further action.
6. Printer Compatibility
Confirm that the printhead you purchased is fully compatible with the HP Officejet Pro 8100. Sometimes, slight model differences can cause issues.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
