Print head missing

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

Experiencing a printhead missing error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 can be frustrating, but there are steps you can take to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Check and Clean Printhead Contacts

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  2. Open the ink cartridge access door.
  3. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
  4. Remove the ink cartridges.
  5. Lift the carriage latch handle to unlock the printhead.
  6. Carefully remove the printhead.
  7. Use a clean, lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the electrical contacts on the printhead and inside the printer.
  8. Let the printhead dry completely.
  9. Reinsert the printhead and ink cartridges, and lower the carriage latch handle.

Step 2: Reset the Printer

  1. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
  2. Allow the printer to complete its initialization.

Step 3: Update Printer Firmware

  1. Go to HP Support and check for any available firmware updates for your printer model.
  2. Download and install the latest firmware.
