The Printhead problem error message came on yesterday and I haven't been able to get it to go off.

I have tried all the things that are listed. I've done multiple hard resets, I've taken the print heads out and followed the cleaning suggestions, everything that is suggested online. I've deleted and reinstalled the printer. It is up to date on software. I have tried printing from another device and nothing. Additionally, it won't let me Align Printheads or click any of the tools in the HP App... it says "printer is busy" but there are no print jobs waiting. I have checked many times to make sure there is no printing orders. In general, I have had so many issues with this printer and have had to hard reset it multiple times per week.

This happened to me once before, and I was able to solve it through those methods. This time, nothing is working! I am so frustrated because of course it is just out of warranty. I consider myself pretty tech savvy but I am getting no where with this one. I also am annoyed that I apparently have to pay to talk to someone? If anyone here can help me, please let me know. I'm going to have to buy a Canon or Epson and hope I have better luck.

Hi @Sara333333,

Could you please confirm if you have tried the steps from the document?

Please follow the below steps.

Print Queue Clearing:

Cancel any print jobs in the queue on macOS by going to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > selecting your printer > Open Print Queue > cancel all jobs.

Reset the Printing System:

This will remove all printers and scanners, clearing any errors:

Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

Right-click (or control-click) in the printer list and select Reset Printing System.

Click Reset.

Add Printer Manually:

Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

Click the + button to add a printer.

Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 from the list.

Verify Printer Connectivity:

Ensure your printer is connected to the same network as your Mac. Check Wi-Fi settings on the printer to confirm connectivity.

If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to restore factory defaults.

Let me know if that helped.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Best regards,

Kuroi_Kenshi
