Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

I loaded the 4x6 index card into the top/bottom tray that is labeled for that size, and the document I am printing is setup as a 4x6 index card, but it says no paper is loaded and still tries to pull from the bottom tray. After much trouble shooting I discovered how to make it work! I am posting this because I am unable to respond to all the other people with the same problem, who didn't get proper answer. I don't know why HP closes off older posts, what a waste of space and time for everyone to keep reposting the same questions. Anyhow...

 

SOLUTION:

 

The printer needs to be told to print from the photo tray. I for example am using Pages (Mac equivalent for Microsoft Word). I go to Print > then CHANGE the PRESET to "PHOTO PAPER" even though it is an INDEX card, and the printer then prints from the proper tray!
