Printing Photo Issue -HP ENVY Photo 7800 All in One Printer Series,
Does anyone have similar problem with printer not able to identify that paper in photo tray already exists.
I use this printer to print photo a week but been having consistent issue with Paper.
The Error message is confusing - It says use HP recommended paper which I have been using but still fails to print..
I have to literally put the tray in and out numerous times for 1/2 -1 hour, Switch power off etc and then it sometimes works.
I use MAC OS Sierra or through iphone/ Andriod to print the pictures.

Hi @Rpboston,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
There could be several reasons why your HP ENVY Photo 7800 All-in-One Printer is not able to identify that paper in the photo tray already exists. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Check the paper sensor: Make sure that the paper sensor is clean and not obstructed. The sensor is a small plastic arm located in the photo tray that detects the presence of paper. If it is dirty or blocked, it may not detect the paper correctly.
- Reload the paper: Remove the paper from the photo tray and reload it. Make sure that the paper is loaded correctly and that the guides are adjusted to fit the size of the paper.
- Reset the printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes and then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Update the printer firmware: Make sure that the printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates on the HP website.
- Clean the photo tray rollers: Over time, the rollers in the photo tray can accumulate dust and debris, which can prevent the paper from feeding correctly. Clean the rollers with a soft, lint-free cloth.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
