Officejet 100 mobile printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

I set up the printer and put in new ink cartridges, added it to my printer list, and went to print a file. It printed the first page of 14 perfectly, and then the power, page, Bluetooth, and ink lights all started flashing. Unplugged, removed battery, reinserted battery, plugged back in, and tried again. Once more, it printed a beautiful first page and then the lights started flashing. The laptop tells me there was a communication failure. Anybody know what to do?

Hi @Martini47,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be a communication issue between your laptop and the HP Officejet 100 Mobile Printer. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check Connections: Ensure that all cables are securely connected between your laptop and the printer. If you're using a wireless connection, make sure that both devices are connected to the same network and that the Bluetooth connection is stable.
  • Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve communication issues. Try restarting both your laptop and the printer.
  • Update Drivers: Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your printer on your laptop. You can usually find these on the HP website. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause communication problems.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve issues with communication and compatibility.
  • Reset Printer: Try resetting the printer to its default settings. This can often resolve issues with the printer's internal settings. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to reset it.
  • Test with Another Device: If possible, try connecting the printer to another device (such as a different computer or smartphone) to see if the issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem lies with the printer or with your laptop.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the communication issue with your HP Officejet 100 Mobile Printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
