Hello,

I'm trying to print greeting cards and when I make cards that are landscape they print fine but when I try to print a portrait card they come out either upside down or on the wrong side and I can't figure out the settings to solve this.

I am printing on A6 cards.

Thank you

The following may be helpful.  Much depends on whether you are using "card software" (which has its own rules and "ways to do things").

Example Assumes...

  •  Printer Software installed (generally refers to the "Full Driver" or "Full Feature Software"
  • PDF format
  • Access to Adobe Reader DC (PDF view / print software)
  • One  sheet of paper (to be folded in half after printing)
  • Printer supports "automatic" duplex

HP Smart can print in "booklet" style.

The following example uses "Letter" paper but the settings are generally the same for rectangular paper that will be folded in half with the small "book" printed in the portrait position (binding on left and is the "longer" side).

Thank you so much for your reply!

I have carefully tried everything you have suggested but I am still having the same problem.

I use Avery or Canva to produce greetings cards so I know all of the measurements are correct but no matter what I try I cannot get this printer to print a portrait A6.

Either the graphics are off-center or it prints it in landscape.

I could cry!! haha

I really appreciate the help though, thank you very much.

You are welcome.

Sometimes the answer is "no" - and nobody wants that.

It may be that the problem is a result of the way in which the margins are treated on the A6 paper - I don't use this format (I live in the USA) - I do know that while several sizes can be printed as "folded card" (four page booklet), some of the smaller than regular paper sizes result in output that is shifted / not-centered / cut-off.   For example, the content might be shifted (to the right? Can't remember) - this happens in spite of any margin settings in the original document and regardless of any subsequent attempts to change the result using other means (font size, gutter or line spacing, "whatever").

Try the setup using a sheet of A4 paper - see if your settings impact the result.
