Resolving "Printer Needs User Intervention" on HP OfficeJet 4650
If your HP OfficeJet 4650 is displaying the "printer needs user intervention" message and you are unable to print from laptops but can print from your phone, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check for Error Messages
Check Printer Display: Look at the printer's control panel display for any specific error messages that might indicate what needs attention.

Printer Software Alerts: Open the HP printer software on your computer and check for any pop-up messages or alerts.

Step 2: Restart Printer and Computer
Turn Off Printer: Press the Power button to turn off the printer. If it does not turn off, disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power source.

Unplug and Reconnect: Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait for 60 seconds, then reconnect it.

Restart Computer: Turn your computer off and then back on to clear any error states.

Turn On Printer: Turn the printer back on by pressing the Power button.

Step 3: Check Network Connections
Ensure Same Network: Make sure both the printer and your laptops are connected to the same network. If they are on different networks, printing will not work.

Wireless Signal: Ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal for both the printer and your laptops.

Step 4: Remove and Re-add Printer on Laptops
Windows:
Open Printers & Scanners in Windows.
Select the printer and click Remove device.
Open the HP Smart app, right-click the printer, and select Hide Printer.
Re-add the Printer: Go back to Printers & Scanners and click Add a printer or scanner to re-add your HP OfficeJet 4650.

Mac:

Open System Preferences and go to Printers & Scanners.
Select the printer and click (-) to remove it.
Click (+) Add Printer to re-add the OfficeJet 4650.

Step 5: Check Print Queue
Clear Stuck Print Jobs: Open the print queue from your computer's operating system (Windows or macOS) and cancel any stuck print jobs.
Reprint: Try to print a test page or document again.

Step 6: Update Printer Firmware
Access Tools: From the printer control panel, go to Menu > Tools > Maintenance.
Firmware Check: Select Firmware and then Check for updates.
Update if Available: Follow on-screen instructions to update the printer firmware if a new version is available.

Step 7: Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
Download and Install: Visit the HP Diagnostic Tools website to download the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Run the Tool: Follow the steps to diagnose and fix any printer connection issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
