Inkjet printers

Hi,

I have a home-based business and plan to print stickers (clear ) for labelling purposes and was thinking of getting a HP Inkjet Printer. Which home-based ones are capable of printing in this medium?

Thanks

Hello Steven,

By the lack of response, you can see you need to do your own digging.    I would appreciate a response and thumbs up for effort.  I am not an HP employee; just searching for answers for queries, such as you have posed.  Good luck.

You are going to have to ask the retailer sales people, such as Best Buy, Staples, Argos, etc.  Here are HP contacts for sales.   Any specific model I have listed is not recommended, I simply have provided for the information available.

You can learn lots by Googling; such as for " Label Printing Programs Free"

Here is a list of labels for printers.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bpa00448 entitled Media Compatibility Chart for Inkjet Printers

The printers do not have label setup, as such.

You are needing to have a label program from which to print - such as Avery on which you set up your labels and then insert the label stock into the paper tray.    There are many label printing programs that are inexpensive.

If you can do so, I suggest you try the (free) Avery Design Software software.

These tips are copied from the next link below:

— Use only labels that have no exposed backing between them.

— Use Labels that lie flat.

— Use only full sheets of labels.

— Do not use labels that have wrinkles or bubbles, or are damaged.

— Do not print partial sheets of labels

These are the specifications of the 8710 (from next link)

  • Media Weight (Maximum) 180 grams per square meter
  • Compatible Media Types Card stock, Glossy paper, Matte paper, Photo paper, Plain paper, Thick paper

I see in the specifications for deskjet printers in next link

Compatible Media Types: Plain paper, photo paper, brochure paper, envelopes and other specialty inkjet papers

It's my opinion that the inexpensive all-in-one printers such as Envy 5660 (which I have), 5540, etc. will not specify any "specialty injet papers" in the specifications.  I would point out that the 5660 printer's  Paper Type settings for "Matt Presentation Paper" might accommodate label paper. (That is something I have read.)

Hello RichAnt,

That is more than I or anyone could have expected. Thank You, so very much! That's a lot of information you just shared with me. I'm not sure which best addresses my problem but I know there is a solution somewhere in there.

Once again, thank you for taking the time and effort to help me out, Rich.

Cheers!

Steven

Hello again Steven,

Thank you kindly for the generous response.  All I do is see if there is any solution/answer and type it up and present it.  One more thing, since you are a business, look for the ones that have fax and a document feed tray on top.  They will cost about $100 +  but those features definitely are needed for efficiency.  The Officejet 4560, Envy Photo 7855, Officejet 8710 all have fax, document feed and are successively higher price.  Check the specs (google for HP 4560 printer Best Buy, Staples, OR Argos, etc.) for speed of copying, fax, etc.  Good luck.  Bye.

Rich
