I just purchased this particular printer (HP Officejet Pro 8730) and it arrived today. I have it up & running, but now I'm wondering if it will print on 67 lb. Card Stock (Perforated Raffle Tickets)? Thanks

Hi @SanJam,
I read the quick response. Please find the specs for supported paperweights and the supported trays.
under Paper tray capacities of Paper-handling specifications.
It gives you a complete list of supported paper based on its weight. it also gives the supported weight of cards and the capacities of each tray,
Please check all the other options one by one.
If this type of paper is supported then there is no problem with printing on these card stocks. However, landscape mode may not be supported if it does not show up as an option under print settings or properties.
However, check this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8730-all-in-one-printer-series/7902049/documen... for further assistance and check the options under "Layout and formatting settings"
If it does not list for card stock but lists for regular paper, then card stocks may not be supported in landscape orientation.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.

Hi @SanJam,
Good Day. Thank you for stopping by the HP forums. I reviewed the post regarding printing on card stock. I will be glad to assist you here. 🙂
Superb description and splendid diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂
I would require more information regarding this.
- Did you check the product specs of the printer to check if the weight and size of card stock being used is compatible?
Please check the product specification link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8730-all-in-one-printer-series/7902049/documen... and check if the card stock that is being used is compatible with this printer.
Please look up all the options under “Paper-handling specifications” like Paper tray capacities, supported cards etc.
If the card stock being used is supported then you could use this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/Printing-cardstock-on-HP-Officejet-8600/td-p/2980939/p... to print on card stock. Although it is for a different printer, the settings would pretty much be similar and it is relevant for you printer also.
If this type of paper is not supported, then you need to use only the cards specified in the printer specifications list. That will do the trick for you.
Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, please. Please note that I am not overloading you with a lot of troubleshooting steps.
Instead, just like you, I am eager to ensure that the problem gets resolved. So I am providing you with more resources and information at your disposal to deal with the situation better.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.

These particular Product Specs do NOT list paper weight when specifying which types of paper this particular printer will support!
What I did find before I purchased the machine is that this printer will support "up to 110 lb (card)" - so I figured it would also take the 67 lb card stock that I use. I did try a couple of sheets in the printer and it does go thru - now all I have to do is figure out how to set up the printer to allow me to use "landscape" when printing the tickets - right now it won't allow me to do that at all? When I select "landscape", the printer automatically changes it to "portrait"!

David:
Thanks for the reply, although an easier & shorter reply that would have answered my question would have been to just tell me if this printer supports 67lb card stock paper!
I will figure it out myself, but thanks for your attempt to help me.
