Trying to print on a 7" X 10" blank card with glossy front.  Cannot figure out what setting to choose as far as kind of paper I'm printing on as card keeps jamming in printer.

IF your card paper is made from Index stock (ISO standards that provide weight characteristics) and / or if the weight of your paper is within the weight limitations, then the paper will likely print in your printer.

7x10 inches is perhaps not a "standard" size paper.

You may need to create a Custom Paper Size form.

Creating Custom Paper Sizes

If your printer software supports Custom Paper Size forms, then one of the two methods to create the custom forum will be available.

  1. Two methods to assign custom paper size forms

Availability depends on printer model and software and Operating System / Version

  • Devices and Printers > Print Server Properties
  • Printer Preferences > Print Dialog > Paper / Quality > Custom setting

Example 1

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers >

Left-Click on your Printer one time to highlight >

Left-Click Print Server Properties (along the top ribbon)

Example 2

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers >

Right-Click on your Printer > If necessary, select printer from drop down menu / list

Printing Preferences > tab Paper/Quality > Custom

  1. Depending on Printer Model / Software, changing the paper in the tray may require that the paper settings be adjusted on the printer control panel.

  • Open Tray > Change Paper > Check printer control panel: “Modify” > select “Custom” > OK)

Create your custom paper size from from a similar paper type / size in the list of supported papers / sizes.

General Examples:

Form "Paper / Quality" Print dialog

Which Media you choose depends on what is available in your printer software.

Print Driver Settings Guide (Windows)

For example, look for Media type (kind of paper) "cardstock", "Brochure glossy", or similar.
