HP DeskJet 2636 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Since I bought my HP Deskjet All in One 2636 in 2020(?) It has chosen when to print. I have not used it since 2021 because it would only "print" Blank pages. Yet I hung onto it thinking it just needed new Ink again. Nope.

I have changed out the cartridges with only HP ink and followed every trouble shooting issue found on the internet including hand cleaning it inside where I could. HP Smart recognizes the printer and reads the levels just fine.

It also recognizes the print jobs and acts like it is laying down ink, but still blank pages.

This is obviously a common issue with the amount of material I have come across to try.

I have follwed ALL of the directions to a T and this has been day 3 of trying to trouble shoot from scratch.

I have cases I need to work on and print so this is NOT helping with productivity.

All drivers are up to date both on the printer and in my HP Pavillion. They have been uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times now and still nothing.

Also it has refused to stay in WiFi Direct mode so it is hard wired to my laptop, another inconvenience. And of course after it worked for the first year, I threw out the WPS PIN and get even get an Info Page to print to see if it's on there.

Obviously there is no warranty left either.

If nothing works, I'm throwing it out the window.

Something is not right.  What happens if you press the "information" icon on the panel display?  Does the printer startup?  Does the ink carriage move across the paper?  Anything printed?

If nothing is printed then look at the copper foil of the cartridges.  Any ink leak?  It should be slightly stained and wet.

Compare your new cartridges to the old ones.

Compare to the pictures shown here

https://smartink.pro/us/hp-deskjet-2636-ink-cartridges/

Is the cartridge in all the way?  It should be secure and somewhat hard to remove.

Make sure nothing is blocking either foil side.

If you updated the firmware you might have a problem

Reminder: Dynamic security enabled printer. This Firmware includes dynamic security measures, which are used to block cartridges using a non-HP chip or modified or non-HP electronic circuitry. The printer is intended to work only with new or reused cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip or circuitry. Periodic firmware updates will maintain the effectiveness of the dynamic security measures and block cartridges that previously worked. More at: www.hp.com/learn/ds
