HP ENVY 4500
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Everybody

Since 20/02/2014 I own a HP ENVY 4500 printer. Since the day before yesterday when printing, only empty pages comes out of the printer. I consulted the Print & Scan Doctor, everything seems to be allright nevertheless the problem remains unsolved. I tried to print whit an USB cable or as a network printer, but nothing seems to work. Everything goes well when printing but in the end the page is empty. Can somebody give me a clue to solve this problem?  The scanner works allright, but if I want tp print the scan again an empty page comes:smileysad: out

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer
2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

The following resource will help you :

HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL50403/mp-150580-2/hppiw.exe

3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

Hope that helps!

Hi Greenturtle,

Thank you for your quick reply. Before trying your solution I tried something else: I forgot to mention that I was using recycled cartridges that I bought on line. I went to the store and bought two original HP cartridges, and once they were installed everything was back to normal. My printer works like a charm.

Nevertheless I want to thank you for your help in solving my problem. Uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software might do the trick in solving other (future) problems. So your solution might come in handy at that time.

The lesson to learn from my experience is this: only use original HP cartridges if you want your printer to work properly.

Have a nice day and keep up the good work!
