My very old mother is having printing problems with her not-quite-so-old printer (Photosmart C5280).
First she was having a printer cartridge error failure. We got her new HP ink cartridges. Then she had multiple printer alignment failures. Finally this seemed to sort itself.
What happens now:
The first page of text comes out perfectly for the top two thirds, and the bottom third text has degraded - the top and bottom of each character are printed, but there is white space across the middle of each line. The occasional word is legible at the beginning and end of some lines.
The second page of text comes out largely ok for the top one third, and then it degrades to occasional dots, with the odd letter intelligible at the beginning and of some lines.
Colour printing appears ok, this problem seems to be the black printing. Ink levels show as full - as I say we bought new cartridges.
Any thoughts?
