Hello,
I am trying to print the blackest black possible but just using black ink cartridge. How do I achieve this?
My printer is HP deskjet 1000 J110 using HP 301 cartridge.
I do my drawing in Adobe Illustrator and set the colour to be CMYK 100 100 100 100.
If I insert only the black cartridge, will the printer leave blank spot on where the CMY colour ink should be or will it fill the space with black ink?
Basically what I am trying to do is to increase the ink density to the highest possible but only using only black cartridge.
Thank you.

Welcome @didididot,
Thanks for engaging in the HP Forums! I see by your post that you would like to be able to print in the darkest black possible. I can help you.
You can use single-cartridge mode:
Use the single-cartridge mode to operate the HP Printer with only one print cartridge. The single-cartridge mode is initiated when a print cartridge is removed from the print cartridge carriage. During single-cartridge mode, the product can only print jobs from the computer.

Here is a document for Printing with Black Ink Only (Windows).
