I'm trying to print on my HP Envy 5530 with 216 gr/m2 INKJET textured paper to simulate a watercolor print. Nothing prints out but a few dark print head lines?

It seems to get "stuck". I've switched between a plain paper and photo paper setting and both outcomes are the same. When I revert back to printing on normal paper everything is fine. This textured paper doesn't seem any heavier than photo paper or cardstock which the Envy is built for.

Is there a setting I am missing or any other steps I can take to print out on this type of paper?

Unfortunately..

The paper is not supported in your printer.

Problems:

  1. Textured paper is not generally supported.
  2. Media "card" paper option cannot be selected because the paper is too heavy for this Media type (kind of paper).
  3. Photo paper is not an option - most printers can sense if you have selected photo paper but a different Media (kind of paper) is loaded in the tray.

Printer Specifications for HP ENVY 5530, DeskJet 4510 Printers

Cards
Up to 200 g/m² (110 lb index)
Up to 40 cards

If the paper were within the weight limits for Card paper, you might get away with the textured paper, though there is certainly no guarantee since the texture on the surface of the paper might still drag or get stuck.

For those reading:

Final issue, though not related in this case because the weight of the paper exceeds the restrictions:.

"Card" paper is supported in the standard sizes shown in the Specifications.

The printer supports using a Custom Paper Size form, which would be necessary to support "other sizes".
