Hi @Brown97,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to replace the ink cartridges might be causing the issue with your HP ENVY 6430e All-In-One Printer.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Check the Ink Cartridges

Power Off and On: Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Reseat the Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the ink cartridges and check them for any visible damage or issues.
  • Reinstall the ink cartridges, making sure they are seated properly.

Clean the Contacts:

  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts on the ink cartridges and inside the printer.
  • Allow the contacts to dry before reinserting the cartridges.

Check for Protective Tape: Ensure that you have removed any protective tape or plastic covering the contacts on the new cartridges.

Reset the Printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  6. Turn on the printer if it does not automatically turn on.

Update or Reinstall the Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  1. Go to the HP Support page and search for your printer model.
  2. Download and install the latest firmware for your printer.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to update your printer's firmware.

Perform a Factory Reset

If none of the above steps work, you might need to perform a factory reset:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord.
  3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

I hope this helps.
