Product: HP Inkjet 6600

Hello, 

 

If someone could please assist, i am getting the message that there is a problem with my printer or ink system. No error number given.  I haven't used the printer in a while, and just placed Black ink in a couple days ago and it printed once but not dark black just a gray color print.  Now nothing at all

How long was the printer unused ? Did you store it with or without ink cartridges?

You have a failed print head. It's time for a new printer.

I have an Officejet Pro 8620 with the error message 'problem with printer or ink system'. Did ALL the suggestions: hard reset, remove & reload, etc. Watched several YouTube videos and disassembled the printhead for a contact and spring cleaning. Still the error message. The Printhead looked great. I am wondering if a new printhead will save this printer? If so, I'm OK with the $150 for the part. Otherwise, $350 for a comparable replacement printer. All very frustrating.
