How do I reset the message screen on my printer. The online help tells me to delete the message "Ink Cartridge(s) missing or damaged"  I have done all the checks suggested but the message remains.

Are the cartridges geuniune?
Can you add a picture of the contacts on the print cartridges and the contacts inside the printer, where the cartridges are placed?

Thanks for reply. The cartridge in question (black) is fine. The contacts are clean and the breather hole is clear. The contacts on the cartridge carrier are also clean, so I don't think that the problem lies there. The HP help page seems to suggest that I need to clear the error message from the printer screen before I can continue - but nowhere do I find instructions as this is achieved. I think that unplugging the printer from the mains, waiting a minute, then replugging is supposed to achieve this - but the error message remains. The printer is pretty old and this problem has occured before. Last time I was able to solve it but it is possible that it has now come to the end of its useful life. Any other ideas?

Is the cartridge genuine? Made by HP?
