HO office 6600 error: “There is a problem with the printer or ink system.”  I tried turning it off and unplugging but still

not working.

I understand you are encountering the "There is a problem with the printer or ink system" error on your HP Officejet 6600 printer despite power cycling it, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

 

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink levels. Sometimes, low ink levels can trigger this error message.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door. Remove the ink cartridges and clean the electrical contacts with a clean, lint-free cloth. Reinstall the cartridges properly and close the cartridge access door.
  • Reset the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer while it is still on. Wait for a few minutes, then plug the power cord back in. Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.
  • Update Firmware: Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve such issues. Visit the HP website, navigate to the support section, and download the latest firmware for your printer model. Follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.
