So my printer seems to not want to print yellow as true yellow anymore. I checked ink levels and it was about 3/4 full but the yellow is like a dull yellow/gray. Thinking that could have been a defective yellow, I put in a brand new yellow and it's a little better but not much. When I run a test print - the cyan and magenta are fine. I turned the printer on and off - no change.
Do I need to open the back and clean anything out? Thanks!

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
It's a pleasure assisting you in finding answers to your technical queries.
This could be a problem with the ink system of the printer.
Let's try to Update the printer firmware
The HP printer must connect to a wired (Ethernet) or wireless network with an active Internet connection to receive updates.
Check for the latest printer updates.
-
From the home screen on the printer control panel, touch the ePrint icon (
).
-
Wait for the printer to connect to the ePrint server. The ePrint status displays.
-
Touch Settings on the bottom left corner of the screen.
-
Touch Printer Update, and then touch Check for Update Now.
NOTE:
Check for updates every week to make sure you are getting the most out of your printer.
Restart the printer.
- Clean the printhead
To clean the printhead, go to Tools on the printer control panel.
-
Load plain white paper into the tray.
-
On the printer control panel, touch the Right Arrow (
) to display additional options.
-
Touch Setup (
), and then touch Tools.
-
Touch Clean Printhead. There are three cleaning stages. A test page (different from the Print Quality Diagnostics page) prints between each cleaning stage. Do not use this test page for analysis. Touch No when prompted to continue the next level of cleaning.
-
Print another Print Quality Diagnostics Report to determine if the issue is resolved.
Try to print.
Keep me posted, how it goes!
