Hi,
after the warranty replacment Formatter PCB the serial no. goes to 00000010. I trayed to put the original serial no. through the CMD with comand >copy /b c:\serial.pjl \\ComputerName\PrinterSharedName.
the .pjl file copied successfully, on the printer display show ''Printing'' but serial no. does not change?!
serial.pjl file looks:
- {esc}%-12345X@PJL SET SERVICEMODE=HPBOISEID
- @PJL DEFAULT SERIALNUMBER=[Personal Information Removed]
- @PJL DEFAULT MODELNUMBER=“C1234B”
- @PJL SET SERVICEMODE=EXIT
- @PJL RESET
- {esc}%-12345X
Please help me what is the correct procedure to put serial no. after replacing Formatter PCB. In service manula there is no informatio how to do this
thanks

The file you are using looks correct. It is possible that HP has changed the format for the newer printers, this PJL file method works fine for older printers. The other possibility is that PJL commands are blocked by a setting in the EWS security settings page. Normally on newer HP units the serial is set through either the support menu or advanced service menus accessed through a special key dance. Due to NDA agreement with HP I am not able to publicly share that information.

Pozdrav @BostjanMa
I am using Filezilla to send serial.pjl to the printer when I want to change serial number.
Open EWS enable FTP printing in Networking -> Advances settings.
Install Filezilla on your computer connect to the printer over a network, run Filezilla connect to the printers IP and just drag and drop serial.pjl to the printer, if it works for me it will work for you too.
I have attached M477serial.pdf so you can see the changed serial number.
