Hello @pinosurano ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

For Samsung MultiXpress printers like K7400LX, the recovery USB requires a set of files that include:

  • HDD Recovery Image — a compressed HDD image to rebuild the internal storage
  • UI Recovery / Smart UX files — the interface and control panel software
These usually come in ZIP packages specific to your exact model and firmware version.

Certified HP service providers have access to the internal FTP where these recovery images are stored. They can:

  • Download the correct HDD & UI recovery packages
  • Create the USB recovery stick for you
This is the most reliable method if you cannot obtain files yourself.

How to Make a Recovery USB Once You Have the Files

Once you obtain the correct ZIPs:

  1. Format a USB drive to FAT32
    • Capacity: at least 4 GB
    • Do not use NTFS — the printer won’t read it.
  2. Extract the ZIPs to the root of the USB stick
    • You should see something like:
      UI_Recovery/
      hdd.img  (or similar)
      other recovery scripts
  3. Insert the USB into the printer
    • Start printer and go into Service / System Recovery Mode
    • Follow on-screen instructions to restore HDD and UI

The exact steps are model-specific and described in the service manual. Hope this helps!
