I have an HP officejet 3830. I had it working on one computer but now it is not working on any computer. I have an HP Pavilion and a Dell Laptop. I tried unplugging the printer cord and re-booting everything with no luck.

Where do you see the error message? (Printer or computer)
Any hardware changes made in the printer?
Could you please help me with the operating system of the computer?
Meanwhile, I suggest you do a Hard Reset on the printer and update the firmware for the printer.
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Restart the printer.
Keep me posted, how it goes!

Hi Raj, thanks for responding. I was getting the message on the computer. I now have it working on one of my two laptops (Dell laptop/Windows 10). I downloaded a Full driver file and ran it. It enabled me to do an install of the printer as if it were new. So I'm okay for now. I would like to get both laptops (I also have an HP Pavilion) to print from the same printer but I'll tackle that another time as I'm heading out for vacation at the end of the week and have little time to dig into it.
Thank you again for responding.
