I have all these same messages for months already on the HP Envy 6255.  I won’t even repeat the messages I have but they are exactly what the OP said, and then I get that security warning and I just continue to print trusting the printer.  But this is ridiculous already that HP does not have an answer after so long.   I print from my iPad Pro which is the only device that gets that message…..it is not from my Samsung Fold 6 phone or any of my HP laptops or desktops.   Must be an Apple & HP incompatiblity.

Hi @Irbrenda1

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device,I understand how frustrating this issue must be, especially since it’s impacting both your print job and your Instant Ink usage. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue with your HP ENVY 6055 printer when printing from your iPhone:

1. Check Wi-Fi Connectivity

  • Ensure your printer and iPhone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, if the devices are on different networks or there are network fluctuations, it can cause the printer to drop connection.
  • Try restarting your Wi-Fi router, printer, and iPhone to reset any potential connectivity issues.

2. Update Printer Firmware

  • Open the HP Smart app on your iPhone.
  • Select your printer and look for any available firmware updates. Install any updates if prompted.

3. Reinstall HP Smart App

  • Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage and locate the HP Smart app.
  • Tap Delete App to uninstall.
  • Reinstall the app from the App Store and set up your printer again.

4. Reset Network Settings on Printer

  • On your printer, go to the Control Panel and navigate to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Defaults.
  • After the reset, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the HP Smart app.

5. Check Print Queue

  • Open the HP Smart app and go to the Print Queue section to cancel any queued jobs.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I did everything up through #4, which I will try resetting the network settings.   This is my iPad and the printer is the HP Envy 6255.   Like I said, I do not get these security, and then "printer not available" and after that, now I get choices:   continue or cancel over and over and over and over.  If I cancel, it cancels the printing job.   I am going to try to reset the network settings but I am thinking this is not the answer, because that does not affect my Samsung Fold 6 phone, which is Android.   It is just from the iPad.   I do not get that message at all printing from the Samsung Galaxy Book laptop or my HP laptop.   And there is no place on the iPad to reset a printer, other than the HP Smart App, which never had issues until the past few months when it started with that insane Security warning, about " this is different than the printer from before" or whatever it said.  I just hit "continue."
