I have been having this same problem for a while, drives me up the wall!! Mine is the HP8600. It prints from the glass fine but when I try to print something from my computer that edited ** error message comes up. I've tried the scan and doctor thing, unplugging it. So I just have to turn it off then on again every time...it's a pain in the butt! I'm about ready to buy another printer. It seems like there has to be a solution to this to fix it

Could you please help me with the operating system of the computer?

As the copy is working fine this could be a driver issue.
