I also have followed all directions to replace the driver and clear out temp files and so forth. It copies just fine. I've also used the program that is supposed to fix or diagnose any issues. However, that program does not test the "paper feed" and/or "paper too long" to print both sides.
Thus, I'm only printing on one side.
I would appreciate a call or email and I'll be happy to supply precise info on the 8620 all in one printer.
Thanks,
Armand

You're welcome. 🙂
I suggest you to close all applications that are using the printer currently. Else it may nit allow you to uninstall the drivers.
Once you have successfully uninstalled the drives from the root level and reinstall them back please check how it goes. If the issue persists then please perform a firmware update on the printer via this link.
Let me know the results. Good luck! 🙂

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that your HP Officejet 8620 printer takes too long to autoduplex. I read that steps you have performed and have certainly done a great job.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
- Does normal (non-duplex printing work fine)?
- What's the paper size your using? Please look under "Paper-handling specifications" from this link.
I suggest you to uninstall the printer drivers from the root level and then reinstall them by following the below steps:
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select OK.
- Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
Now you may download and install the drivers for your HP printer from this link.
I hope this helps. Keep me posted. Good luck!

MKazi,
Appreciate your response.
The paper is standard american 8.5 x 11....been using it for years.
YES, it does print fine when NOT trying to print duplex. Plus, it copies just fine.
I can also print to an additional 8600, and that printer will NOT print duplex either with same error.
I have replaced the driver at least twice...but not precisely with the methods and links you have supplied. I will follow your directions.
Thanks,
Armand

MKazi,
I followed your directions exactly. ..up to an error.
The printer is NOT showing in Devices and Printers. However, with printui.exe /s when I go to remove the driver, it shows it is in use:
The following package(s) can not be deleted:
hpvyt13.inf (x64)
This package contains the following driver(s) that are in use:
HP Officejet Pro 8620; This driver is used on:
HP Officejet Pro 8620 (Network)
The following driver(s) can not be deleted:
Driver HP Officejet Pro 8620 (x64) is in use. It is used on:
HP Officejet Pro 8620 (Network)
>>>>>>>>>>>
While it is "shared," I can no longer see the printer and am not sure how to "delete" only the "shared printer" so that I can then go in and delete the driver?
Thanks for your help.
Armand

MKazi,
FYI - I did take it out at the root level, but could not get it to delete from the Network level. Would not delete.
BUT, I went ahead and reinstalled the driver...via the "discover" devices (printer), then automatically find and install the driver. BINGO. This time it is printing duplex! Why it refused on many other reinstalls is beyond me. But printing OK now.
Thank you so much for your suggestions, I do think that taking it out at the root level did the trick.
Thanks again,
Armand
PS. Guess I can't give you kudos from this level...seems goofy to me, but I will go back and do it.
