I have the same exact problem except I use both the tri-color and black cartridges. I just replaced both of the cartridges, alignment went fine. I can make copies. I can print from my iPad and iPhone. However, I can’t print from my HP laptop. It says “no toner/ink.  As I said I can print from other devices and I can copy....but cannot print from my laptop. I’ve rebooted everything. I’ve run  troubleshooting and it just tells me there’s no toner/ink.

‘Please help. I must be able to print from my laptop.

@Luckysmom1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • What is the exact model for your printer?
  • What is the operating system you are using? (Windows version)
  • Are you getting any error when you print from your laptop?
  • How is the printer connected to the laptop?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Look forward to hearing from you and you have a great day!

Take care.

Cheers!

Hello. Thank you for responding.

‘-My printer is an HP Envy 5530

-I am using Windows 10 Home

-I am not getting an error when I try to print from my laptop. It just doesn’t print. I can see in my printer status the message “no toner/ink”.

-my printer is wireless. I can print wireless from my iPhone, my iPad and I can make copies without my printer giving me the “no toner/ink” message.

-I have not made any software or hardware changes to my laptop.

- I ran the HP troubleshooting/diagnostic tool prior to posting. It said “no toner/ink” I also rebooted  both the printer and laptop.

I use my printer every day from my laptop. I had used it just minutes before I changed out the cartridges. I changed the cartridges with brand new ones I just purchased. I performed the alignment task and the printer message on the front of the printer stated that was everything was successful. I then tried to print from the laptop and it wouldn’t print. I checked the printer status and it said no toner/ink. I opened the printer back up and opened the cartridge clips and reset them. It still wouldn’t work. I ran the diagnostic tool. I tried printing a test page. Would not print. I rebooted everything. Did not work. Then I tried to print from my iPhone and iPad and it printed fine. I made a copy of something and it worked fine. But it still gives me the no toner/ink message when i try to print from my HP laptop. The only thing I did different to any other day was change the cartridges.

‘Thank you!
