HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

After 1hr 26min and 19sec with support, I'm sadly left with a less functional printer.. I purchased my OfficeJet Pro 7740 while stationed in Germany where it shipped with HP 953XL ink. Although I initially registered it as a USA device (service member living on post), upon moving back to the states I get an incompatible ink error when attempting to use HP 952XL ink (I'm pretty sure due to the regionalization lock).

Sadly, this was not the right step to reset the region and it did not work with the 952XL cartridges. Since I've already run out of ink, after the support representative had me reset the device, now I cannot get past the initialization to be able to use any of he printer's scan functions either leaving me with a very expensive paperweight.

Is there anyone who can assist? 953XL ink is not available here and I really need my printer. Help me obi wan kenobi, you're my only hope! Many cell phone minutes died to bring you this information..

Hi @fakename9999999,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you moved and the printer is not accepting the new region cartridges.

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
