I purchased some local remanufactured ink cartridges type 955XL which don't work. I understand that a regionalization reset may fix it. Can you tell me what to do

Hi Jay_G64,
Thank you very much for the article you referenced in your reply. It told the full story. I had updated the firm ware but the problem remains as indicated in the article since my printer is brand new and was certainly manufactured after 1. Dec 2016. I will take this up with the cartridge's suppliers.
Thanks again
Chris

Hi Jay_G24,
Thank you for replying to my question and here are the answers to your questions -
1. Both the HP Officejet Pro 7740 printer as well as the Greentech remanufactured HP 955XL were purchased from an Officeworks store in Melbourne, Australia. The printer had just arrived from overseas. I do not know from where.
I have since purchased actual new HP cartridges from the same store and they do work. I am trying to get my money back on the other cartridges and probably will. The questions now are -
1. Is HP forcing us to ONLY use HP original cartridges? There is quite a price difference!
2. Could resetting the regional code fix this problem as I read in other cases? I don't think that Greentech are going to be very long in fixing this.
Thank you for your help
Chris

Region reset is performed when a printer was purchased in a different country and is been moved to be used in a different one.
Update the printer firmware-
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
The third-party ink cartridges will work. But there are many cartridges in the market which are refilled and sometimes the chip is not configured to work with the printer. You need to contact the cartridge manufacturer and find out why it's not working. Try a different cartridge supplier and check if that works.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
