HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-all-in-one printer

A new printer was added to the home and this one was renamed. I need to change the name back. It's only changed in the app. I'm using an Android. How do I do it?

@AHLV, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Are you using the HP Smart app on your Android device?

  • Open the HP Smart app
  • On the home page, tap on the printer icon
  • Under Options > Rename the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have been searching for this solution as well. I just purchased a second HP Envy 7855 - so, now I have two 7855 printers on the same home network. On HP Smart app, the "Option" allowing a renaming of printers that I keep reading about in the posts does not appear.

When I go into "Printer Settings" for the particular printer that I wish to rename, my options are what is listed below. Where is this mysterious "Options > Rename the printer"?

These are fully supported printers purchased within the past month.

Status -

Printer Status (within which  only option is "HP instant ink")

Supply Status (within which only option shows cartridge levels an ability to order supplies)

Information (no edit options) -

Printer Information

Network Information

Settings -

Print Anywhere

Advance Settings

Tools -

Printer Repoerts

Print Quality Tools

Manage -

Print from Other Devices

Forget This Printer
